U.S.-ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership
On January 20th, 2022, Commercial Officer Daniel Pint and Senior Commercial Specialist Triet Huynh of the U.S. Consulate General HCMC, in collaboration with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), led a delegation of six U.S. Smart Cities companies to the Mekong River Delta province of An Giang to explore An Giang’s Smart Cities projects. These six Smart Cities firms include Avigilon/Motorola Solutions (Chicago, IL), Dell Technologies (Round Rock, TX), Ernst & Young (New York, NY), Honeywell (Charlotte, NC), Qualcomm (San Diego, CA), and Winbourne Consulting (Arlington, VA).
The delegation met in-person with key government officials from An Giang province to discuss how the U.S. government agencies, including U.S. Department of Commerce and the USTDA, and U.S. Smart Cities companies can support the preparation and implementation of An Giang Province’s Smart Cities projects, especially the Intelligent Operations Center and the Digitalization of Urban Planning and Construction Management System.
