Scientific consensus on climate change is overwhelming, and complex shifts happening in our climate today are having profound impacts on urban water systems. Changing weather patterns, more frequent and intense rainfall, and increasing episodes of droughts will have significant impact on the reliability and sustainability of water utilities. Along with the challenge of managing water supply and demand, water utilities need to manage new demands on energy use, reduce carbon emissions and waste in a move to achieve Net Zero. They also need to leverage technology to be more effective, efficient and sustainable to transform the nature of work into becoming smart utilities.
At Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2024, we will bring together thought leaders, experts and practitioners to share best practices, co-create innovative water, flood management and coastal protection solutions, and foster new partnerships to tackle urban water and climate challenges. We aim to galvanise climate action by providing a platform for exchange, sharing and collaboration amongst municipal and industrial stakeholders.
