U.S.-ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership
NIST Associate Director Dr. Sokwoo Rhee delivered the keynote remarks at the CSIS event Cities of Tomorrow: Safety, Smarts, and Surveillance. CSIS convened a diverse panel of experts to distinguish between leading smart city models and discuss how their technologies, including in the areas of public safety and surveillance, are impacting the power of citizens, governments, and corporations, both within and between countries.

USASCP is a key deliverable of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy that seeks to harness U.S. public and private sector expertise to collaborate with the 26 pilot cities of the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN) in order to meet the varied challenges of rapid urbanization and help improve the lives of people in the region.
